With Bitdefender, you can choose one of two methods to activate your subscription: either click to activate the subscription directly from the purchase e-mail received shortly after placing an online order, or manually activate the code from the e-mail or retail box.

1. One-click instant activation
One-click instant activation is the easiest way to activate a Bitdefender subscription.
In order to activate your subscription using one-click instant activation, you must have an internet connection and your Bitdefender software must be up to date.
To activate your subscription using one-click instant activation, follow these steps:
- Open the Bitdefender window.
- In the upper left corner of the window, click Settings.
- Click Subscription in the left menu pane.
- On the Subscription page, click Activate Bitdefender now (or Deactivate Bitdefender).
- You will see an Activation code field; enter your code and click Activate now.

2. Manual Activation
This section covers the manual activation. Manual activation means that you can use the one-time code from the purchase e-mail or retail box to activate your Bitdefender subscription, as follows:
If you have purchased your subscription from the Bitdefender website, you will find all the information you need to activate it in your e-mail receipt.
If you have purchased your subscription from a retailer, check the packaging for your one-time code. The code is usually printed on a sticker affixed to the retail box.
If you purchased the product directly from Bitdefender, you can contact Bitdefender support.
In order to activate your subscription, follow these steps:
1) Log into MyBitdefender and click on Sign In at the top right corner of any page;
2) Enter your username and password;
3) Click Sign In;
4) Click on Activate Subscription in order to start using Bitdefender Internet Security Suite.

3. Auto-Activation
In the case of Bitdefender Internet Security subscription, auto-activation is only available for recurring customers who have already purchased several years of Bitdefender protection.

When you make a purchase through the Bitdefender website, the activation takes place immediately after completing the transaction. No further steps or actions are required on your part. Only existing Bitdefender users can benefit from automatic activation as long as the following conditions are met:
1) The product that you purchased must be compatible with your current license.
2) Your current license must not have expired. If it has expired (or will expire soon), please contact our customer support so we can help you reactivate it.
3) You must have an active Internet connection when making your purchase.
